According to the decision of the European Commission, travellers cannot bring in any animal products in their luggage, for their own consumption (meat, meat products, milk and dairy products). The only exception is children’s powdered milk in commercial containers, and special food for medical reasons. Up to one kilogram of any other type of food can be brought into Spain.

Upon arrival in Spain, travellers are authorised to carry their personal luggage, where they can carry personal or family use goods, or gifts, which are not considered commercial goods because of their amount or nature. The border authorities will decide if they meet these requirements.

Amounts above 6,010.12 euros must be declared. Currently, over 18 year-olds are allowed to carry 200 cigarettes, 100 small cigars, 50 cigars, or 250 g of pipe tobacco. Regarding alcohol, one litre of drink can be brought in with alcohol content over 22º, and two litres if the alcohol content is lower. Perfume products are also limited to 50 g of perfume and 0.25 l of eau de toilette.
